The gasoline gauge on a van initially read 1/4 full. When 10 gallons were added to the tank, the gauge read 2/3 full. How many more gallons are needed to fill the tank?

    1/4 is equal to 3/12 and 2/3 is 8/12 so 3 + 8 = 11

    and that means each gallon adds 1/24

    so 2 more gallons should do it
