How long is the arc of a circle subtended by a central angle of 1 radian if the radius of the circle is 17 units?

    Use the formula S = xr.

    Note: I am using x in place of theta since there is no theta symbol on my keyboard.

    We want to find S, the arc of the given circle.

    S = (1 rad) (17 units/rad)

    Notice that both rad cancel out.

    Note: rad is radians for short.

    S = 17 units
