A system of equations of equations is shown below.

2x + 4y=0

y=1/2x-3

What is the x-value in solution to the system of equations?

    X=3

    multiply the second equation by 4 so it cancels out the y value so we can solve for x. then add the equations and add twelve to both sides so you get 12=4x. devide both sides by 4 and you are left with X=3
