    The area of square for side 2 cm is 4 cm², And yes area of square and length of side are directly proportional.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Given as for square;

    The side of square = a

    The Area of square = side²

    So, For side = a

    The Area of square = a * a = a²

    Now if a = 2 cm,

    So, The side of square = a = 2 cm

    ∴ The Area of square = 2 * 2 = 2²

    or, The Area of square = 4 cm²

    So, from the above formula to get the area of square, it is clear the the side of square and the area of square are directly proportional quantities.

    I. e Area of square ∝ side²

    Hence the area of square for side 2 cm is 4 cm², And yes area of square and length of side are directly proportional. Answer
