    A) width * length = 180 OR width = 180 / length

    B) width = length - 3

    Substituting A) into B) we get

    180 / length = length - 3

    180 = length^2 - 3 * length

    length^2 - 3 * length - 180 = 0

    Factoring:

    (len + 12) * (len - 15) = 0

    length = 15

    Therefore width = (length - 3) = 12
