    N=d+3 because she has 3 more n than d

    5n+10d=150

    These are givin 5cents in a Nickel so it's 5n

    10 cents in a dime so it's 10d

    We need her to have 150

    Now substitute what we know n to be

    Into the equation and solve

    5 (d+3) + 10d = 150

    5d + 15 + 10d = 150

    15d + 15 = 150

    15d=135

    D=9

    Jess had 9 dimes and 12 nickels
