    9x-3y=3

    3x+8y=-17

    9x-3y=3

    9x-3=3y

    3y=9x-3

    y=x-1

    plug it into the other equation

    3x-8y=-17

    3x - 8 (x-1) = - 17

    -5x + 8 = - 17

    -5x = - 25

    x = 5

    plug it in again

    y = x - 1

    y = 5-1

    y = 4

    9x - 3y=3

    (-) 9x+16y=-51. (Multiply by 3)

    -19x=54

    X = - 54/19
