    You can not do the first one because the things do not add up

    First solve for y with first equation:

    3y = 13-6x so y = 13/3-2x

    Plug that in with 2nd equation:

    -9x-4 (13/3-2x) = - 17

    -9x-52/3-8x=-17

    -17x=-34 1/3

    x = 34 1/3

    17

    x = 103/51
