The ratio of apples to oranges on the fruit stand was 31:11 if there were 2,940 apples and oranges altogether, how many apples are there

    First you add 31 and 11 and you get 42, then you do 2,940 divided by 42 which is 70. Then you multiply 70 by 31, and you get 2, 170,
