65% of the trees in a park are oak trees. the number of oak trees in the park is 26. how many trees in all?

    65% is the same as 65/100

    so if 65/100 = 26X

    (x being oak)

    the you divide 26 by both sides

    65/100 / 26 = X

    40 = X
