    The formula for finding the vertex of a parabola is: x = - b/2a

    Once you find the x value, substitute it back in to the function to find the y value.

    x = 1 / (2*1)

    x = 1/2

    y = (1/2) ^2 - (1/2) + 2

    y = (1/4) - (1/2) + 2

    y = 1 3/4

    vertex (1/2, 1 3/4)
