    A (b-c) = d

    We are trying to leave c on one side, so we have to divide by a on both sides first to get

    b-c=d/a

    now we can subtract by b on both sides to get

    -c=d/a-b

    now multiply both sides by - 1 to get

    c=-d/a+b
