What is the solution to the linear equation?

2.8y + 6 + 0.2y = 5y - 14

    It's definitely D) 10

    2.8y + 6 + 0.2y = 5y - 14 * add 2.8y and 0.2y (like terms)

    3y + 6 = 5y - 14 * subtract 3y from both sides

    6 = 2y - 14 * add 14 to both sides

    20 = 2y * divide both sides by 2

    10 = y
