    0.75x + 0.5y = 25 ... she wishes to spend it all on cherry candies (y) ... so we sub in 0 for x.

    0.75 (0) + 0.5y = 25

    0 + 0.5y = 25

    0.5y = 25

    y = 25/0.5

    y = 50 <===
