4 quarters equal a dollar so what you need to do is 72 divided by 4. The answer you get is 18. $18.00 is equivalent to 72 quarters. How I know is because 18 times 4 equals 72. And 72 quarters divided by 4 equals 18 so the answer is that if you exchange 72 quarters to a bank, you do get an equal amount of dollar bills.
