What is the solution set for (x+1) squared=49? how do you get it?

    (X+1) ^2=49

    it can be written as

    (x+1) ^2=7^2

    if two different base have same power then the bases would be equal of each other

    x+1=+_7

    x=7-1 or x = - 7-1

    x=6 or x = - 8
