    Terminating decimal

    rmember that all numbers can be put over 1 and that is a fraction

    ex

    1/1=x

    3/1=3

    π/1=π

    so therefor

    0.25=0.25/1

    if yo want to make the top number equal a whole number

    multiply top and bottom by 100 to move 0.25 two decimal places to the right to make it ahwole number

    0.25/1 times 100/100=25/100=1/4

    answer is 1/4

    steps:

    1. find how many decimal placees the number goes to (ex. 0.25=2 places 0.2=1 place, 0.2345=4 places)

    2. put the decimal over 1 (so if the decimal is x then do x/1)

    3. find a fraction that is 10/10 such that the number of zeros one the top should be equal to the zeroes on the bottom, the number of zeros on the top should be equal to the number of decimal places from step 1

    4. multiply the fraction (x/1) from step 2 by the fraction from step 3

    5. simplify the resulting fraction
