8x-2=-9+7x,

8x-7x=x and - 9+2=-7

so x=-7

8x-2=-9+7x

So you move the 7x over the equals sign, so you take it away from the 8x. This gives you x-2=-9.

You then must move the - 2 over the equals sign so you add it to the - 9. This gives you x=-7

So x = - 7
