Timothy runs on a treadmill at an average speed of 5 meters per second. How many minutes does it take Timothy to run 2.4 kilometers?

    Firstly we need to find out how many 5-meters-sections can fit in 2400 meters (2.4 km). To do that we just divide:

    2400 : 5 = 480

    Now we just multiply the result by the amount of time Timothy needs to beat it (one second in this case):

    480 * 1 = 480

    So it takes 480 seconds (which is as much as 8 minutes) for Timothy to run 2.4 km.
