    Shade of paints:

=> 5 parts of red paint

=> 7 parts of blue paint

    Sharon mixed paints:

=> 12 parts of blue paints

=> 8 parts of red paints

Shade of paint = 5/7 or ratio of 5:7

Now, the ne mixture that Sharon did is 8/12 or the ratio or 8:12

Since, we have given fractions, to check if this mixture are equivalent let’s convert it into decimals.

    5/7 = 0.714

    8/12 = 0.6667

Thus the mixture that Sharon did is not equals to the default mixture of paint shade but close.
