The tortoise would be walking for 2.5 minutes because

3x2=6 and that would equal to two minutes and then there 1.5 meters left to walk

so if 1.5 is half of 3 than the minute would be cut in half to to leave with the answer that the tortoise took 2.5 minutes to walk 7.5 meter.

3 meters per minute is the rate.

7.5/3 = how much minutes he walked.

    7.5/3 = 2.5

Answer: It walked for 2.5 minutes.
