An ant crawls at a rate of 2 1/6 feet per minute.

At this rate, how long does it take the ant to crawl a distance of 5 1/5 feet?

    Velocity, V = 2 and 1/6 = 2+1/6 ft/min

    Distance, d = 5 and 1/5 = 5+1/5 ft

    time, t = ?

    V = d / t = > t = d / V = [5+1/5] / [2+1/6] = [26/5] / [13/6] = [26*6] / 5*13] = 2*6/5 = 12/5

    12/5 = 10/5 + 2/5 = 2 + 2/5

    Answer: 2 and 2/5 min
