An object falls from a window. The distance the object has traveled, d, is jointly related to the acceleration due to gravity and the square of the time elapsed. The object has fallen 5.929 meters in 1.1 seconds, and the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 meters per second squared. Assuming the object continues to fall and the acceleration due to gravity remains the same, how far has the object traveled after 2 seconds?

    5.929 = (1.1) ^2 x 9.8k = 1.21 x 9.8k = 11.858k

    k = 5.929 / 11.858 = 0.5

    d = 1/2gt^2

    After 2 seconds. d = 1/2 x 9.8 x 2^2 = 4.9 x 4 = 19.6 meters.

    d=1/2gt², g is the acceleration

    t=1.1s d = 9.8m

    t=2s, d = 1/2x 9.8x 2²=19.6m
