    Remember to do the same thing to both sides

    use distributive prpoerty which is

    a (b+c) = ab+ac so

    pemdas

    multiplication

    8 (x+1/4) = 8x+8/4=8x+2

    3 (6x-9) = 18x-27

    now we have7x+8x+2=18x-27-8

    add like terms

    15x+2=18x-35

    subtract 15x from both sides

    2=3x-35

    add 35 to both sides

    37=3x

    divide both sides by 3

    37/3=x

    12 and 1/3=x
