    Y = (x+4) ²-1. Let's expand it: y=x²+8x+15.

    This quadratic function intersects the x-axis at x₁ = - 3 & x₂ = - 5

    Its axis of symmetry is x = - b/2a = ( - 8) / 2===> x = - 4

    Now plug - 4 into the equation = = = > y = - 1

    So the vertex is at (-4,1)
