Helen bought a coat at a 20% off sale in and $12. what was the original price of the coat?

    100 - 20% = 80%

    80% x p = $12

    0.80 x p = $12

    0.80p = $12

    Divide both sides by 0.80 to cancel out 0.80 and you get $15.
