    4x-5y=40

    Plug in 0 for y.

    Now we have 4x=40

    divide both sides by 4

    Now we have x=10

    So our, x intercept is (10,0) because when we put 0 in for y, we get 10 for x

    You simply need to make y equal to 0.

    4x-5 (0) = 40

    4x=40

    x=10

    X-Intercept is then (10,0)
