    1) List all the multiples of each denominator and find the first common multiple:

    9 = 9

    3 = 3, 6, 9

    So the LCD is 9

    2) Make the denominators the same as the LCD:

    7/9 - 2x3/3x3

    3) Simplify. The denominators are now the same:

    7/9 - 6/9

    4) Join the denominators:

    7-6/9

    5) Simplify:

    1/9

    (Decimal form: 0.111111
