What is the solution to the compound inequality 5x + 7 > - 8 and 3x + 7 ≤ 19?

x ≤ - 3 and x ≥ 4

-3 ≤ x < 4

    5x+7>-8

    minus 7 both sides

    5x>-15

    divide by 5

    x>-3

    3x+7≤19

    minus 7 both sides

    3x≤12

    divide by 3

    so x is bigger than - 3 and less than or equal to 4
