Things did no go quite as planned. You invested $19,660 part of it in a stock that paid 12 percent annual interest. However the rest of the money suffered a 5 percent loss. If the total annual income both investments was $2060, how much was invested at wach rate?

    0.05x+0.12 (19660-x) = 2060

    Solve for x

    X=4274.29 at 5%

    19,660-4,274.29

    =15,385.71 at 12%
