    L = Money that Leila has

    R = Money that Reuben has

    S = Money that Scott has

    L = S - 5

    R = 2S

    L + R + S = 63

    S - 5 + 2S + S = 63 [ substitute ]

    4S - 5 = 63

    4S = 68 [ add 5 both sides ]

    S = 17

    Scott has $17

    L = 17 - 5 = 12

    Leila has $12

    R = 2 (17) = 34

    Reuben has $34
