    The surface area of a sphere:

    A = 4 pi r^2

    where pi = 3.1416

    r is the radius

    since diameter is given

    r = d / 2

    r = 16 / 2

    r = 8

    A = 4 pi (8^2)

    A = 804 sq in is the surface area of the disco ball
