    (f + g) (1) = f (1) + g (1)

    f (1) = 7

    g (1) = √ (1 - 3) = √ ( - 2) = √ 2 · √ (-1) = i √ 2 (we know that √ ( - 1) = i, or irrational number)

    Answer:

    (f + g) (1) = 7 + i √ 2
