What is the value of the discriminant in the equation shown below?

    Discriminant = b^2 - 4ac

    a = 1

    b = 3

    c = - 6

    3^2 - 4 (1x-6)

    9 - (4 x - 6)

    9 - - 24 = 33

    Therefore it has 2 real roots

    3^2 - 4 (1) (-6)

    [a] x^2 [+b] x [+c] = 0[1] x^2 [+3] x [-6] = 09 - 4 (1) (-6) = 9 - (-24)
