A school soccer team has just purchased new uniforms. The team now has 2 different colors of shorts (white and red) and 3 different colors of shirts (white, red, and gold).

How many different uniform combinations are there? ... ?

    Basic combinations are calculated with

    number of shorts * number of shirts = 2 * 3

    so the answer will be 6.
