The difference of 9 times a number and 2 is 67.

Which equation below can be used to find the unknown number?

    The total is 67 so you would write that out

    67=

    Next you can write out 9 times a number. you can let that unknown number be n (you can use any variable you like). So now you would have

    67=9n

    You still have to subtract 2 from the 9n so plug that in

    67=9n-2

    Your answer would be 67=9n-2
