    Area of a rectangle is 27 cm²

    Given:

    Perimeter of a rectangle = 24 cm

    Length = 3x

    Width = x

    p = 2 (l + w)

    24 = 2 (3x + x)

    24 = 6x + 2x

    24 = 8x

    24/8 = x

    3 = x

    Width = 3 cm; Length = 3x = 3 (3) = 9 cm

    Area = length * width

    = 9cm * 3 cm

    Area = 27 cm²
