Using the distributiver property which is

    a (b+c) = ab+ac therefor

    2 (x-2) = 2 (x) + (2) (-2)

    multiply

    2x+-4

    2x-4

    2x-4=2x-2?

    false

    the answer is no

No, these are not equal because:-

    2 (x - 2) = 2*x - 2*2 = 2x - 4

    2x - 2 is not equal to 2x - 4

    Answer: Not equal
