Mrs. larnell is making snack packs for a class picnic. She puts 1/4pound of apples, 1/8pound of nut mix, and 1/16pound of chocolate in each students pack. There are 24 students in the class. What is the total weight of the snack packs? Is there more than one way to solve this problem?

    1/4 (24) + 1/16 (24) + 1/8 (24) = 6+24/16+3=6+3/2+3=12/2+3/2+6/2=21/2=10 1/2 pounds in total.
