Pyramid A is a square pyramid with a base side length of 7 inches and a height of 6 inches. Pyramid B has a volume of 3,136 in3. How many times bigger is the volume of pyramid B than pyramid A?

    First we need to calculate volume of pyramid A.

    Volume of pyramid is calculated by using formula:

    Va=B*H/3 where:

    B is base surface and H is height of pyramid.

    B=a^2 where a is length of one side of square base.

    B=49

    Va = 49*6/3 = 49*2=98

    Now we divide volume of pyramid B with volume of pyramid A:

    Vb/Va = 3136/98 = 32

    Answer is B.
