If a bass has a length of x inches, where x is between 20 and 25 inches, its weight can be estimated by the formula W (x) = 0.96x-14.4.

a) what length of bass weighs 6.8 pounds?

b) what lengths of bass weigh less than 6.8 pounds?

i dont even know where to start ... ?

    therefore x = 22.083 in

    b. Since we are asked for the length of the bass when it weighs less than 6.8 lbs, the answer should be a range of values. Since the least value of x is 20, therefore the answer is

    20 < = x < 22.083

    < = less than or equal to
