    Subsitution is subsituting

    y=3x-2

    y=-x+6

    subsitute 3x-2 for y in second equation

    3x-2=-x+6

    add x to both sides

    4x-2=6

    add 2 to both sides

    4x=8

    divide both sides by 4

    x=2

    subsitute

    y=-x+6

    y=-2+6

    y=4

    x=2

    y=4
