Write an equation, then solve it, where the number is expressed as x. The wording is a little tricky, but I take it as meaning:

-take 7 from the number

-multiply it by 5

-add 25

5 (x - 7) + 25 = 0

5x - 35 + 25 = 0

5x - 10 = 0

5x = 10

x = 2
