    By the factor theorem, if x + 3 is a factor of f (x) = - 3x^3 + 6x^2 + 6x + 9, then f (-3) = 0

    f (-3) = - 3 (-3) ^3 + 6 (-3) ^2 + 6 (-3) + 9 = - 3 (-27) + 6 (9) - 18 + 9 = 81 + 54 - 9 = 126.

Therefore, x + 3 is not a factor of the given function
