    Given these functions:

    f (x) = 5x - 2

    g (x) = x^3 - 2x^2 - x + 2

    As f (x) = g (x),

    5x - 2 = x^3 - 2x^2 - x + 2

    0 = x^3 - 2x^2 - 6x + 4

    The solutions are:

    x = - 2

    x = (4-√8) / 2=2-√ 2 = 0.586

    x = (4+√8) / 2=2+√ 2 = 3.414

    The best answer is then letter D.
