The length of a rectangle is twice its width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 60 ft, find its length and width.

    L = 2W

    P = 2L + 2W

    60 = 2 (2W) + 2W

    60 = 4w + 2w

    60 = 6w

    60/6 = 6w/6

    w = 10

    L = 2 (10)

    L = 20

    Check

    P = 2L + 2W

    60 = 2 (20) + 2 (10)

    60 = 40 + 20

    60 = 60
