The length of a table is 14 inches more than its width. if the area of the table is 792 square inches, what is its length?

    A = l x w

    l = w+14

    792 = w + 14 x w

    792 = w² + 14w

    w² + 14w-792=0

    w = - 36 w=22

    You can't have a negative length so the width = 22

    Length = 22+14

    Length = 36 inches
