Out of 100 students in the cafeteria, 42 wanted chicken fingers and 24 wanted salad. Explain how you can represent the number of students who did not want either choice as a decimal and as a percent.

    Add the numbers they gave you and subtract it from the total to get the unknown so 100 - (24+42) = 34 as a decimal it will be. 34 and as a percent it is 34%.
