You divided 4763 by 100 (4763/100) and you get 47.36. So you would have 47 groups of 100 and 36 left over that can't fit into the groups of 100 (the 36 is called the remainder).

    Divide to find out

    4736/100 = 47.36

Therefore, we have to round, and then we get 47.

Answer: 47 groups and a remainder of 36.
