Divide five into 125 to figure out one what one fifth is. The answer is 25 so 3/5 of the students have phones which would be 3*25 = 75. If 75 students have phones subtract that from the 125 and that means that 50 students do not have phones. The answer to this problem is 50 students do not have phones.
